Sister taxa: Matthevia erecta, Matthevia variabilis, Matthevia walcotti

Type specimen: LACMIP 12821, a valve. Its type locality is LACMIP 17160, LC 19.5, Gray Hills, northwest end of Lawson Cove, Wah Wah Mt., which is in a Sunwaptan carbonate dolomite in the Notch Peak Formation of Utah.

Ecology: facultatively mobile epifaunal grazer

Distribution:
