Sister taxon: Cherninia denwai

Type specimen: BPI 414, a skull. Its type locality is Locality 15, Upper Luangwa Valley, 3.5 miles west of Sitwe, which is in an Anisian terrestrial mudstone in the Ntawere Formation of Zambia.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at Locality 15, Upper Luangwa Valley, 3.5 miles west of Sitwe
