Type specimen: ISI A 54, a skull. Its type locality is 1.5 km E of Purtala, which is in an Anisian terrestrial horizon in the Denwa Formation of India.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at 1.5 km E of Purtala
