Sister taxon: Bauria cynops
Type specimen: BPI 369, a skull. Its type locality is Grootsdam Farm, Burghersdorp, which is in an Anisian terrestrial horizon in the Burgersdorp Formation of South Africa.
Ecology: planktonic herbivore
Distribution: found only at Grootsdam Farm, Burghersdorp
