Type specimens:
- Hintzeia celsaora: YPM 18258, a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is Locality 6, Hillyard's Canyon, Zone "G(1)", which is in a Tulean shallow subtidal horizon in the Garden City Formation of Idaho.
- Protopliomerops aemula: 26434 (AMNH), a cephalon/head (cranidium).
Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal carnivore
Distribution:
• Ordovician of United States (9: Idaho, Utah collections)
• Ibexian of United States (1: Nevada)
Total: 10 collections each including a single occurrence
