Belongs to Parahystricurus according to W. D. Boyce 1989

Sister taxa: Parahystricurus bispicatus, Parahystricurus carinatus, Parahystricurus fraudator, Parahystricurus oculirotundus, Parahystricurus pustulosus

Type specimen: NFM F-88, a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is BH-30, which is in a Demingian peritidal lime mudstone/wackestone in the Boat Harbour Formation of Canada.

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder

Distribution:

• Ordovician of Canada (15: Newfoundland, Newfoundland and Labrador collections)

• Skullrockian of Canada (1: Newfoundland)

Total: 16 collections each including a single occurrence
