Type specimens:

  • Heliomeroides teres: USNM 116294, a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is Loc. 7, bridge east of Edinburg, which is in a Blackriveran carbonate limestone in the Edinburg Formation of Virginia.
  • Heliomera chipperfieldi: Its type locality is Auchensoul, which is in a Llandeilo/Aurelucian marine limestone in the Stinchar Limestone Formation of the United Kingdom.
  • Heliomera sol: GSC 683 (lectotype), a cephalon/head (cranidium).
  • Heliomeroides akocephala: YPM 23326, a cephalon/head (cranidium).

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal carnivore

• Chazyan of Canada (7: Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories), United States (2: New York)

• Arenigian of Canada (1: Northwest Territories)
