Type specimens:

  • Hyposaurus derbianus: MN, a partial skeleton (Left malar and quadratojugals, nearly complete lower jaw, several vertebrae, humerus, coracoid and several dermal bones). Its type locality is Pernambuco, which is in a Danian marine horizon in the Maria Farinha Formation of Brazil.
  • Guarinisuchus munizi: DG-CTG-UFPE 5723, a partial skeleton (Skull and mandible, ulna, cervical and caudal vertebrae, ribs, dermal scutes and isolated teeth). Its type locality is Poty Quarry, 11 m above K/Pg boundary, which is in a Danian shallow subtidal limestone in the Maria Farinha Formation of Brazil.
