Type specimens:
- Jeffersonia jenni: Its type locality is M. S. M. 75.28. Highway 25 down to Crystal City Glass Workers Country Club., which is in a Cassinian carbonate dolomite/chert in the Cotter Formation of Missouri.
- Jeffersonia angustimarginata: NFM F-87, a pygidium. Its type locality is BH-95A-114, which is in a Cassinian peritidal lime mudstone/wackestone in the Catoche Formation of Canada.
Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder
