Sister taxon: Mariliasuchus robustus

Type specimen: DG/UFRJ 50-R, a partial skeleton (A partially complete articulated individual with a nearly complete skull and partially preserved axial and appendicular skeletons). Its type locality is Agua Formosa Creek road cut, 3 m up, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian eolian sandstone in the Adamantina Formation of Brazil.
