Sister taxon: Athalia vetuecclesiae

Type specimen: AMNH Fl 18871, an exoskeleton (body with wings attached, missing abdomen ). Its type locality is Florissant, Station 14, which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.
