Sister taxa: Pappictidops acies, Pappictidops obtusus
Type specimen: IVPP V4319. Its type locality is Zhangjiawu South (71008), which is in a Paleocene terrestrial horizon in the Wanghudun Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
