Sister taxon: Derorhynchus minutus
Type specimen: MNRJ 1348-V, a mandible (Incomplete right mandibular ramus). Its type locality is São José de Itaborai, which is in an Eocene fissure fill marl in the Itaboraí Formation of Brazil.
Ecology: scansorial omnivore
Distribution: found only at São José de Itaborai
