Type specimens:
- Gaylordia macrocynodonta: DGM 329-M, a partial skull (Anterior part of skull and mesial fragment of left mandibular ramus). Its type locality is São José de Itaborai, which is in an Eocene fissure fill marl in the Itaboraí Formation of Brazil.
- Xenodelphis doelloi: MNRJ 2504-V, a mandible (Left mandibular ramus, incomplete). Its type locality is São José de Itaborai, which is in an Eocene fissure fill marl in the Itaboraí Formation of Brazil.
Ecology: scansorial omnivore
Distribution: found only at São José de Itaborai
