Sister taxa: Sarcodon minor, Sarcodon pygmaeus
Type specimen: IVPP V11358, a mandible (Left lower jaw). Its type locality is 1 km south of Xinzhuang Village, which is in a Paleocene terrestrial horizon in the Tujinshan Formation of China.
Ecology: scansorial insectivore
Distribution: found only at 1 km south of Xinzhuang Village
