Sister taxa: Catella (Oceanopieris), Catella (Torinosulcatella), Catella caterinae, Catella fossa, Catella impressa, Catella laticlava

Type specimen: GSC 9426. Its type locality is 7500 feet north of Tyaughton creek, which is in a Rhaetian marine siliciclastic in the Tyaughton Formation of Canada.

Ecology: facultatively mobile low-level epifaunal suspension feeder

Distribution:

• Triassic of Canada (2: British Columbia collections)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
