Type specimen: UCMP 9162, an osteoderm (fin spine). Its type locality is Straight Canyon, Humboldt Range, which is in an Anisian/Ladinian marine horizon in Nevada.

Ecology: nektonic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Straight Canyon, Humboldt Range
