Type specimen: IGM 6620, a skull. Its type locality is Dinosaur National Monument South, Huizachal Canyon, which is in a Pliensbachian floodplain horizon in the La Boca Formation of Mexico.

Distribution: found only at Dinosaur National Monument South, Huizachal Canyon
