Sister taxa: Aspideretes nassau, Hutchemys acupictus, Hutchemys rememdium, Hutchemys sterea, Hutchemys tetanetron, Hutchemys walkerorum
Type specimen: YPM PU 16319, a shell (Nearly complete carapace). Its type locality is Burns Mine (Bear Creek), which is in a Clarkforkian terrestrial horizon in the Fort Union Formation of Montana.
Ecology: aquatic omnivore
Distribution: found only at Burns Mine (Bear Creek)
