Type specimen: AMNH 27722, a skull. Its type locality is AMNH PR 88-3, which is in a Burdigalian carbonate limestone in the Cibao Formation of Puerto Rico.
Ecology: aquatic herbivore-carnivore
Distribution: found only at AMNH PR 88-3
