Sister taxon: Montanoolithus labadousensis
Type specimen: TMP 2007.4.1, an egg (a nesting trace and five partial eggs of an in situ clutch.). Its type locality is Blackfeet Indian Reservation, Montanoolithus [PROXY], which is in a Campanian/Campanian fluvial mudstone/sandstone in the Two Medicine Formation of Montana.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution:
• Cretaceous of Canada (2: Alberta collections), United States (1: Montana)
Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
