Emaciaticeras Fucini 1931 (ammonite)

Cephalopoda - Ammonitida - Hildoceratidae

Name was considered invalid by Haas 1947 due to "no authors of genera are given, nor is any of those names designated a new name, nor is a generic (subgeneric) diagnosis, or definition, or description given in any case; needless to say that there are no type species designated". However this opinion is based on the belief this publication was published after 31 Dec 1930 when ICZN Article 25 came into effect. Although the endpapers are dated 15 June 1931, the frontispiece for this paper is dated December 1930. Emaciaticeras is a name clearly derived from Ammonites emaciatus Catullo, 1847 thus idea that the type species is not clear is moot. Howarth (2013) considered that Vecchia (1949) was in fact the author of this name an alternative viewpoint is that Vecchia (1949) acted as first revisor.
