Sister taxon: Carlocebus intermedius
Type specimen: MACN-SC 266, a mandible (Mandibular ramus preserviing rp4 m1-2 and alveoli for p2-4 m3). Its type locality is El Carmen Lower, Pinturas Fm., Lago Buenos Aires, Santa Cruz, which is in a Burdigalian terrestrial horizon in the Pinturas Formation of Argentina.
