Type specimens:

  • Shansiodon wangi: IVPP V 2415, a skeleton (Nearly complete skeleton). Its type locality is Hsiaotukou, Yinjiao, 5673, Wuhsiang-Yüshe area, which is in an Anisian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Ermaying Formation of China.
  • Shansiodon wupuensis: IGCAGS V 319, a skull.

Ecology: herbivore

Distribution: found only at Hsiaotukou, Yinjiao, 5673, Wuhsiang-Yüshe area
