Sister taxon: Neoparadoxia repenningi

Type specimen: LACM 150150, a skeleton (nearly complete skeleton). Its type locality is Aliso Viejo, which is in a Langhian/Serravallian slope/ramp reef siltstone/diatomite in the Monterey Formation of California.

Ecology: amphibious herbivore

Distribution: found only at Aliso Viejo
