Type specimen: NMNZ S.51263, a partial skeleton (vertebra 3 or 4). Its type locality is Manuherikia River site, Saint Bathans, Home Hills Station, HH1a, which is in an Altonian lacustrine - large sandstone/claystone in the Bannockburn Formation of New Zealand.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at Manuherikia River site, Saint Bathans, Home Hills Station, HH1a
