Sister taxa: Leptura petrorum, Leptura ponderosissima
Type specimen: MCZ 2589, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Florissant (USNM Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Florissant (MCZ Collection)
