Type specimen: NWMNH 25034, a shell. Its type locality is New York Canyon, Shoshone Mountains (M. trigonatum assemblage), which is in a Bucklandi marine limestone in the Sunrise Formation of Nevada.

Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore

Distribution: found only at New York Canyon, Shoshone Mountains (M. trigonatum assemblage)
