Sister taxa: Nuculavus bangarraensis, Nuculavus levatiformis, Nuculavus menuda, Nuculavus okawensis, Nuculavus terminalis
Type specimen: UNM 11230, a shell. Its type locality is UNM 1320, Tularosa clay pit, which is in a Gzhelian marine shale in the Laborcita Formation of New Mexico.
Ecology: facultatively mobile infaunal deposit feeder-suspension feeder
Distribution:
• Carboniferous of United States (3: New Mexico collections)
