Sister taxon: Tohoraata raekohao
Type specimen: OMC GL 402, a partial skull (incomplete occipital, left and right tympanic bullae, atlas, axis and three cervical vertebrae). Its type locality is Duntroon (Kokoamu Greensand), which is in a Duntroonian offshore shelf limestone in the Kokoamu Greensand Formation of New Zealand.
