Sister taxa: Martellia ichangensis, Martellia mesocosta, Martellia shabdjerehensis, Martellia talacostensis
Type specimen: NMW 98.28G.3, a shell (conjoined valves). Its type locality is Locality 156. Kurzhaksai section, which is in an Abereiddian open shallow subtidal limestone/siltstone in the Uzunbulak Formation of Kazakhstan.
