Sister taxon: Eotaria citrica
Type specimen: OCPC 5710, a mandible (partial right mandible including P2 – 4, M1 and M2 alveolus). Its type locality is Mission Viejo, which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian marine sandstone in the Topanga Formation of California.
Ecology: amphibious piscivore
Distribution: found only at Mission Viejo
