Sister taxon: Saurornitholestes langstoni

Type specimen: SMP VP-1270, a partial skull (nearly complete left frontal). Its type locality is SMP Loc. 311, Hunter Wash, which is in a Campanian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Kirtland Formation of New Mexico.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution: found only at SMP Loc. 311, Hunter Wash
