Sister taxon: Gyatermes styriensis

Type specimen: CHAF-20038, a forewing. Its type locality is Mt. Chausuyama, Shinonoi, which is in a Messinian interdistributary bay mudstone in the Ogawa Formation of Japan.

Ecology:

Distribution: found only at Mt. Chausuyama, Shinonoi
