Sister taxon: Sarkastodon mongoliensis
Type specimen: IVPP V7998, a tooth. Its type locality is Shipigou, which is in an Eocene/Oligocene terrestrial horizon in the Hetaoyuan Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution: found only at Shipigou
