Sister taxon: Sarkastodon henanensis

Type specimen: AMNH 26641, a partial skull. Its type locality is 25 miles southwest of Iren Dabasu, which is in an Irdinmanhan terrestrial horizon in the Irdin Manha Formation of China.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution:

• Eocene of China (2 collections), Mongolia (1)

Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
