Sister taxon: Patagonhippus canterensis
Type specimen: MPEF 6127, a mandible (right dentary fragment with canine, p1-4, m1-3). Its type locality is La Cantera, which is in a Rupelian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
Ecology: scansorial herbivore
Distribution: found only at La Cantera
