Type specimen: MPEF 5501, a tooth (isolated upper right molariform). Its type locality is Gran Barranca - southern cliff of lake Colhué Huapí, which is in a Colhuehuapian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: arboreal herbivore

Distribution: found only at Gran Barranca - southern cliff of lake Colhué Huapí
