Sister taxon: Eopachyrucos pliciformis

Type specimen: MAMC-39, a mandible (left partial dentary with broken c, p1–p3, p4 (talonid), m1–m2, and unerupted m3, and ascending ramus with imperfectly preserved coronoid process (Fig. 3).). Its type locality is Rancho Verde, which is in a Deseadan fluvial sandstone in the Fray Bentos Formation of Uruguay.
