Type specimen: V351A-V351AB, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Q07/f145, Whangarei Eochelone monstigris type locality, which is in an Eocene marine sandstone in the Ruatangata Sandstone Formation of New Zealand.

Ecology: aquatic omnivore

Distribution: found only at Q07/f145, Whangarei Eochelone monstigris type locality
