Type specimen: MGSB 74.642. G.L.V., T-46, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Santa Cecília de Voltregà turtle, which is in a Bartonian offshore shelf marl/sandstone in the Vic-Manlleu Marls Formation of Spain.
