Sister taxa: Caenolophus magnus, Caenolophus progressus, Caenolophus promissus, Caenolophus suprametalophus, Teilhardia pretiosa
Type specimen: AMNH 20296, a maxilla. Its type locality is Ula Usu, Shara Murum (AMNH), which is in an Eocene terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the Shara Murum Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling browser
Distribution: found only at Ula Usu, Shara Murum (AMNH)
