Type specimen: MNHN No. QU 17739, a mandible (incomplete right mandible with dentary, splenial, coronoid and small part of supra-angular and angular). Its type locality is Phosphorites du Quercy (for taxa with non-specific locality data), which is in an Eocene/Miocene terrestrial phosphorite in the Quercy Phosphorites Formation of France.
