Type specimen: HLMD-Me 10207, a partial skeleton (nearly complete skeleton). Its type locality is HLMD pit 14, Messel, which is in a MP 11 lacustrine shale in the Messel Formation of Germany.

Ecology: ground dwelling omnivore

Distribution: found only at HLMD pit 14, Messel
