Sister taxon: Sphaerodactylus ciguapa

Type specimen: ZFMK 66238, a partial skeleton (amber-embedded articulated specimen preserving the integument and nearly complete cranial and postcranial elements, tail vertebrae missing, possibly due to rege). Its type locality is Dominican amber, La Toca (Work collection), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian fluvial-deltaic shale/amber in the El Mamey Formation of the Dominican Republic.

Ecology: ground dwelling insectivore-carnivore

Distribution: found only at Dominican amber, La Toca (Work collection)
