Sister taxon: Sphaerodactylus dommeli

Type specimen: MCZ R–186380, a partial skeleton (an amber-embedded skeletonized and articulated specimen preserving patches of integument, most of the left basicranium, the posterior part of the left jaw, part). Its type locality is Dominican amber, La Toca (Work collection), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian fluvial-deltaic shale/amber in the El Mamey Formation of the Dominican Republic.

Ecology: ground dwelling insectivore-carnivore

Distribution: found only at Dominican amber, La Toca (Work collection)
