Sister taxa: Lestophis anceps, Limnophis crassus

Type specimen: YPM 531, a set of vertebrae (single cervical vertebra). Its type locality is Marsh's Fork (Lower Bridger), which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.

Ecology: fossorial insectivore

Distribution: found only at Marsh's Fork (Lower Bridger)
