Sister taxa: Lestophis anceps, Lestophis crassus
Type specimen: YPM 531, a set of vertebrae (single cervical vertebra). Its type locality is Marsh's Fork (Lower Bridger), which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.
Ecology: fossorial insectivore
Distribution: there are no occurrences of Limnophis crassus in the database
