Type specimen: MHI 2047, a partial skeleton (partial skull with anterior portion of the left mandibular ramus). Its type locality is Vellberg-Eschenau, which is in a Longobardian estuary/bay claystone in the Erfurt Formation of Germany.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at Vellberg-Eschenau
