Sister taxon: Ictinogomphus engelorum

Type specimen: LMK-Pal-2016-5538, a hindwing. Its type locality is Schaßbach (Hassler collection), which is in a Badenian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Mühldorf Formation of Austria.

Ecology: fast-moving volant carnivore-insectivore

Distribution: found only at Schaßbach (Hassler collection)
